For 2012, we returned once more to the Park Inn Palace on Pier Hill because the venue is ideally suited for those who are local and those who need to somewhere to stay the night.
The event was a 220 sell out once more and we all sat down after enjoying drinks beforehand in the Bar Area.
Ken Holmes travelled from Luxembourg and many diners came some distance from within the UK. I am sure The Park Inn is grateful for the business.
We enjoyed a 3 course dinner consisting of Melon, Roast Tenderloin of Pork with Apricot Stuffing and Truffled Chocolate Torte.
Toastmaster Chris Sorrell made sure the evening was regularly punctuated with the usual variety of Toasts and finished with three cheers for the School.
After this the speeches began with the Tony Barrett who proposed the toast to the Association and the School after an informative speech regarding the School and how the OSA can help moving forward.
President John Wren then responded with some amusing anecdotes of his time at school during the war.
Following this Dr Robin Bevan spoke at length about the great achievements of the School over the last twelve months.
Finally School Captain, Samuel Leveridge concluded with an entertaining account of his and his relatives’ experiences at the School.
The formal part of the evening concluded with the singing of The School Song and Auld Lang Syne to the accompaniment of Gerald Usher on the keyboard.
We then adjourned to the Bar and onward to our various locations having had a most enjoyable evening with old friends. The list of Members attending the Dinner can be found by using the following link: clickhere
