2017 is the second year I have been running the Bowls Circle. During this period there has been a very pleasing increase in the numbers of members, particularly younger ones. This has been much needed as retirements have also been on the increase. Currently there is a membership of 30 which includes several wives or partners of members. A decision was taken several years ago to invite them to play to avoid the possible folding of the Circle. I am hopeful in the not too distant future that the first lady Old Boy will bowl her first wood for the Circle.

All our matches are played on an away basis as we do not have our own rink. These are all friendlies and whilst competitive are most enjoyable. For the current 2017 season I have organised 16 matches with a mixture of rinks and triples, fixtures being played on either a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon.

I am always on the look out for new members and anybody interested in joining or requiring further information please contact me at
