For the interest of Members, events for the coming months are listed below.
Our president, Clive Shiret, is proud to invite members to join him at the historic George Pub and Dining Rooms, established in 1723, at 213 Strand, WC2R 1AP, opposite the entrance to the Law Courts. For centuries those at the heart of our legal system have dined in sumptuous style and The George is a throwback in time. The venue boasts a good level of fayre and a well-kept, well-stocked cellar of beers and wines.

By popular demand, we return to this venue where the views of the golf course and surrounding countryside complement our favourite 3-course Carvery Lunch.

A real Treat (no tricks!) for Hallowe’en, this year’s wine tasting event will for the first time include some wine from Switzerland as well as the Italian wine you have come to expect and love from the vineyards of Jan and Ian Steel and their friends.
As usual there will be excellent wine, amusing information about its origins and making, fun games (the return of wine pong anyone?) and wonderful food with a buffet from Wayne always welcome to help keep us sustained.
Measures are generous, prior knowledge of wine unnecessary, and for the first time this year please feel free to invite guests from outside the Association if you wish. As in previous years, however, the capacity for the event is strictly limited to 35.
Tickets will be £55, inclusive of wine and buffet. Further details are available in the August 2025 Events Sub-Committee Newsletter. Please contact Kate Cooper at to book your place.
The event this year is once again at the Southendian Clubhouse next to the cricket ground at Garon Park. The Boundary is the function suite based in the marquee at the complex. Feedback from 2024 was outstanding. We hope you will once again enjoy this venue for the OSA’s main Event of the year!
